April Tip of the Month – Screening and Selection

Each month, Praesidium’s experts bring you tips for preventing incidents of abuse and false allegations in your organization. We focus on all operations of the Praesidium Safety Equation® to keep you up to date on the latest trends in abuse risk management!

Check at least three references for all applicants, two personal and one professional. Consider including one family member as part of the personal references because family members likely know the applicant as well or better than others.
Additionally, check references related to the applicants position. For example, if an applicant is applying for a child care position, check references where he/she has previously worked in child care.
