ARLINGTON, Texas (April 25, 2016)
We are proud to announce Teresa Kellendonk of the Archdiocese of Edmonton as our newest Certified Praesidium Guardian!
Teresa has developed a comprehensive training curriculum for clergy in the Archdiocese of Edmonton. Recognizing what a vital role clergy play in successfully implementing their abuse prevention initiative and for sustaining a culture of safety, Teresa has identified key competencies and tools needed for them to be effective. In doing this, she focused on: the types of abuse risk in ministry, recognizing and responding to red-flag behaviors, maintaining professional relationships with staff, victim empathy, and following the Archdiocesan operational standards. She will deliver this training to clergy in the Archdiocese to ensure they have a consistent message and are equipped to champion the initiative in their local ministries.
Teresa’s passion, experience and new perspective as a Certified Praesidium Guardian make a significant impact on the safety of those served in the Archdiocese. We are so excited to see her achieve certification!
